SPACE raises huge traffic issues:Accuses town board of changing "readopted" resolution after public hearing and vote Think "local commercial convenience use" would mean something like a 7-11 or grocery store? Well, according to our Building Inspector, its a shopping center. Sound goofy? We think so too. At the Feb. '08 towm board meeting, a public hearing was held on granting a Special Permit for a Shop Rite shopping center to be constructed on Kay-Fries Drive. Check out SPACE's presentation & video

West Haverstraw traffic mess to come to Stony Point? The town claims it needs more tax ratables, so why haven't they done anything with the Letchworth land, or the waterfront? Farewell to Annies: Stony Point loses a historic community landmark. While the town of Stony Point cannot tell a business owner who it should sell to, the last thing the Town of Stony Point needs is another bank and two more pharmacies. Due to our current tax situation, the success of our town will rely more and more on building a successful business district, which can help subsidize our town and school taxes. This can come through a well designed Master Plan that emphasises building a business district with the right types and mix of businesses that will attract customers to shop locally. Read more...
