Riverkeeper boat tour views potential uses for
Stony Point waterfront
(Stony Point, NY) Town of Stony Point Supervisor, Bill Sherwood (left), SPACE board member, Frank Collyer, Jeffrey Anzevino of Scenic Hudson, Rockland Tourism Director, C.J. Miller and SPACE board member, Susan Filgueras and others took a tour of the Stony Point waterfront with Riverkeeper patrol boat captain, John Lipscomb on Monday, October 25. The Stony Point Action Committee for the Environment (SPACE) coordinated the outing with Riverkeeper for the purpose of generating some discussion about the Stony Point waterfront and its environmental and economic potential for the town, visitors and its residents. Each of the members of the tour received a copy of Revitalizing Hudson Riverfronts, the newly released waterfront planning guide published by Scenic Hudson, Inc. and a copy of Riverkeeper: NY's clean water advocate. The group intends to follow-up its tour with a public meeting and discussion of ideas for possible updates to the town's Local Waterfront Development Plan (LWRP).
