Stony Point Historic Roundtable invites YOU to share local history

The Stony Point Historic Roundtable is having its first meeting at 1pm on Sunday, Februrary 22, 2009, Washington's Birthday, at the Stony Point Pyngyp Schoolhouse Community Center. The guest speaker for the afternoon will be Thomas F. X. Casey, Rockland County Senior Historian, who will speak about our town's connection to General George Washington, the first President of the United States.

All are welcome to attend and bring old photos, artifacts, town maps and stories to share about Stony Point history during a history "show-and-tell." The group invites adults and children to participate and plans to begin recording and cataloging the stories and materials as part of a local history and educational project with the schools and libraries.

The Pyngyp Community Center is located on the corner of Route 210 (County 106) and Cedar Flats Road.
